Scientists at University of Utah have developed a pair of glasses which have the ability to auto-adjust the focus of the lenses in the glasses. This will be very useful to the people who don’t want to use bifocal or progressive glasses. The lenses in the glasses are flexible and can change shape – they can become more curved to help near vision and flatter for distance vision. So whether you need glasses for short-sightedness, long-sightedness or for reading, these smart glasses will give you a new experience.
The glasses are not available commercially now but with miniaturization of its component and making it less bulky, they should be available for patients’ use in the coming years hopefully.
